LSAA President Recognised by EA

Kourosh Kayvani top100 bOur President, Dr Kourosh Kayvani, Aurecon’s (formerly Connell Wagner) special structures leader for the Asia Pacific zone has been recognised in this year’s Engineers Australia Top 100 list of most influential engineers.
 
The annual list appears in the June edition of Engineers Australia magazine and recognises Australian engineers who have had leading influence in industry, consulting, academia, politics and public service.

 

“I am honoured to be included in such a list of eminent peers in Australia,” Kourosh said.
 
Appearing in the category of engineering expertise, the recognition is acknowledgement of Kourosh’s 20 years of professional practice, during which time he has pushed the boundaries of structural analysis and design.
 
During his career, Kourosh has been involved in the design a number of innovative and iconic projects. London’s Wembley Stadium (Arch and Roof), the ANSTO OPAL reactor building, the Sydney Olympic Hockey Centre and Barito River Suspension Bridges (Indonesia) are just a few standout examples of the projects that he has worked on.

Non LSAA members may also submit news articles concerning areas of lightweight structures such as:

  • new projects involving architectural fabrics
  • new projects involving cablenets, efficient lightweight structures of steel (arches, spaceframes etc)
  • new projects involving "high tech" glazing systems (eg those supported by cable trusses or other glazing elements)
  • shadecloth applications.
  • new materials that would be applicable to lightweight structures
  • educational courses on lightweight structures
  • photos of international projects

Non member articles will be subject to review so should be free from promotional content.
